transfer files comp to comp

Postby Pirc8 » Sun Apr 27, 2014 3:19 am

want to copy chess program from win xp computer to flashdrive (or other method suggested) to vista computer where would test to see its opening 'book' data in tact. other methods of copying have shown the data not to be in tact. would then send the program from vista computer to someone online waiting to work with it. have permission from ChessOK Aquarium to do this

Pirc8,

A quick search on Google for "transfer ChessOK Aquarium to another computer" reveals that you have asked this question on several forums, all resulting with the same basic answer, you need the install/setup file to accomplish this.

The only work around would be to know the location of all the files installed for the program and all the registry additions the install adds to the registry. Even then it will not be an easy task as user file paths in Vista are not the same as XP, a lot of work for a inexpensive program like ChessOK Aquarium.

Pirc8,

There was no inconvenience for me, just like there are no stupid questions. If you don't know the answer there is no harm in asking!
