Hi,

I need to get a new computer. I want it to be fast and have room for lots of pictures. Would a Mac or PC be better?

being a pc builder, i must say PC. Mac is a great workhorse machine but they are expensive, have limited upgrade options with little support.

Yeah, it all depends on how much would you like to spend. If you have money, invest in Mac, if not - try to find a good PC for a decent price.

Hi Geekbit131

Forget Apple, buy a regular PC. Its not that one is better than the other, its the factor that free software makes your purchase more affordable. Nothing is free at Apple, you pay through the nose.

Unless an avid gamer, you don't need to spend a lot of money to get what you describe.
It may be a good time to learn Linux because all one needs to get what you describe is any old PC, desktop or laptop, with
a good motherboard that supports at least two gigs RAM and Intel Core2 Duo (easy to find). With a 2.3 to 3.0 MHz CPU, 3-4GB RAM and a 500GB harddrive, it will scream running something like peppermint two ( http://peppermintos.com ).
Just a suggestion for the frugal non-gamer.

Well, personally I like PC.

They both have their pros and cons though.

My main things I disliked about my Mac laptop was the Browser(Safari) and the whole thing where there is no right-click on the mouse. The keys being different and the desktop and everything being different was incredibly original and looked great, I was impressed personally. But there were many useful features like right clicking taken away that tended to confuse me and hold me back on a lot of subjects that I wouldn't even have to think for with a PC.

To be honest, PC and Mac are almost exactly the same except the layout of everything. I've had friends say a Mac was A LOT faster then a PC. Well, I say Bull crap, because my pages load in almost less then a second and loading faster then that isn't going to help anyways.

PC is overall the best, if you ask me.

Mac is good for buisness work though from what I hear. :winkbow:
