major problem with windows xp!!!

ok i have a laptop that use to have windows vista basic so i decided to switch to windows xp home edition . so when im running the setup it tells me that some items cant be installed on the laptop at the time i was a little distracted so i told it to just keep installing anyways. but now i found that i cant access anything on the computer xp just wont let me in . im trying to find a way to revert my system to the old vista system but i cant find a way to restore it by the way i have an acer aspire 5050 laptop any help on the matter will be very apreciated thanks.

Did you do a clean install of xp or did you install on top of vista?

I would make sure the xp disk is clean and the machine is formatted

For getting vista back, you should have disk that came with the laptop to restore it.
