A few starter questions....

What version of windows media player do you have and also what is the file extension(s) that your trying to open(.mid:.mp3:.wma)?

What is it that you are doing that isnt working?
Does your computer freeze up or does nothing happen at all?
Have you tried to save the attachment to your computer then open it?

The more you can tell us about whats going on the better we can help :)

Windows media Player

Postby distrautuser » Tue Apr 13, 2004 10:56 pm

When I open an email from my son, he adds a card to it that plays music. Normally they are mp3 files. I have Windows Media Player 9 installed. I click on the attachement, no virus found, download file. A window will open asking me to save or open. First I will open it then windows media player will open but instead of playing the card it comes up with a message that media player has encounter an error then give me an error code. So, I will go back to the attachement and then save it. I do that, go to where I saved it and try to open it there and the same thing happens. Window media player opens with a message stating that an error has occured. I know that there isn't any virus but media player just won't work no matter how I do the attachements. I hope that this is helpful. Thanks

I'm afraid I don't understand how you mean..."with another program". Please tell me what other program I should save it to. Thanks.
