Im not very good with win98 stuff so...
A coworker of mine has a wndows 98 machine, he says it keeps booting in safe mode.
My guess is there is a corrupt file somewhere?

Is there a quick fix or should he just reload?

Thanks

Right click on "My Computer" go to Properties then to Device Manager.

Click on the + signs All of them and highlight and remove all duplicate entries (some Windows may not allow you too -thats OK)

Now Get out and try and restart it.

If that doesn't work then use the Win 98 Bootdisk to get to the A:\> prompt

At the A: prompt type the following hitting the <enter> key after each line:

c:
cd\windows\command
scanreg /restore (notice the space)

You should get a choice of registries to restore. Select one that was before the problem.
