Postby bdhonline » Mon Oct 13, 2003 5:47 pm

I am experiancing irratic behaviour from the mouse on my PC which only occurs when I play a PC game. The mouse operates suitably when I use ordinary movements of characters, but behaves with a jurky movement when I use the "Load" facility for the game. I have made adjustments for the Mouse movements & speed but the problem still exists. Can you please help ?

are you sure it's the mouse, and not the video card having trouble keeping up. Try lowering the resolution of the game and see if things get any better. There generally isn't anything that goes wrong with the connection to the mouse... either works or it doesn't.. and since you don't have trouble in windows, I'd supose the mouse itself is OK too... let us know your findings

It could simply be a dirty mouse. Clean the ball and rollers with Rubbing Alcohol.
It could also be damage to the mouse cord caused by excessive bending of the cord, especially near where it attaches to the mouse.
It may be a problem with the mouse driver. Try uninstalling it from Device Manager and rebooting. Windows will re-install it and then you can try to update it's driver. (You will have to use your "Windows" Key and arrow keys to envoke the Start menu to shutdown. Or you can press Ctrl + Esc to do the same thing.)
Let us know. brad
