:( I was trying to load a game in DOS (an old game I played when I was a kid) and I set the shortcut to create a DOSkey, but the program will not load and I keep getting "Bad Command or File Name" and I can't find a way to get back to Windows....Does anybody here have a solution?? Please, I have all my school papers, my grpahics and my website saved on that computer and I need them back!! Thank you!

Can you get to the DOS prompt on the C drive? If so go to the Windows folder type win.

Is this program being executed from the autoexec.bat file? If so you could edit it from DOS.

Can you get into Safe Mode?

Do you have an ERD floppy disk or a floppy disk that has been formated with system that you can boot the PC with? If so boot the PC with the floppy and go to the Windows folder and type win.

if you just have a full screen dos window that is running in windows, you could hit ALT+ENTER to take it to window mode, or you could type EXIT at the dos prompt. If you are actually booting into dos, you'll have to re-write the boot info, which will be easy IF you created a rescue disk.. if not, go to and download the disk related to your OS.
