browser being redirected, need help from some smarter than I

Postby sbsmithfl » Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:31 pm

I am having *some* of my browser moves redirected to a ***.ilxt.info address. Yesterday, I followed the instructions on this posting:

modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2546&view=previous

and everything seemed clear when I left work last night. Now, I did a startup this morning, and the problem has reappeared? Can someone smarter then I take a look at these details. I am posting the Hijackthis log.

So many thanks,
Stephen

additional info

Postby sbsmithfl » Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:36 pm

I wanted to also report that I have run Spybot, first, and sometime yesterday also ran CWshredder, on the advice of someone else. Have I screwed everything up?

so many thanks,
Stephen

Well hopefully you didn't follow the instructions in that link that pertained to the fixing with HJT.......

You have the funkiest HJT logfile Ive seen yet....... :|

Download / Install / Update / and Run:

And:

Post a fresh copy of the your HiJackThis Log File And wait for further instructions

(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)

This is all I see:

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.
