Hi to all, I keep getting this Parasite appear when I run Spyware doctor. This says that 12 files will be removed on re-boot--- but are always still there. Any advice Please.

First of all copy the hijack file to a folder like hijackthis in your My Documents folder. Your running it from a temp directory that could easly be deleted. Create a folder in My Documents and Run the program from there and then remove these items. That way if you have an oops, you can undo it.

Then go to this site

and download the lsp removal tool and run it.

reboot and run hijack again and post here and we'll see if there is more to do.

Hi again , I tried your suggestion and re-booted to find that my AVG antivirus was not working properly ( Firewall switching itself on and of etc) and I could no longer connect to the internet!!. I have restored a registry back up to get back to wher I am now??
Next idea please Pete :cool:

Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following:
(They may or may not be there)

windowsautomaticupdates.exe

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

You look good except a few things (some I missed):

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin", reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

And I'm not a fan of Spyware Doctor. I think it says you have things when you dont.

Also, this program Trojan Guarder, did you install this?

Ok All details followed to the letter! :cool:

I used to use Spybot until this stopped working ( it gets halfway thru a scan and freezes), I also use XoftSpy which usually finds nothing, Trojan Guarder was installed as a last resort a few weeks ago when AVG was picking up Trojans about 10 times a day!! I also use adAware and TDS ( am I a bit Paranoid see photo!)
I have recently installed SP2 from a CD as I couldn`t get Updates to work thru downloads

Your log is clean except for one thing:

You can leave it, or boot into safe mode and have HiJackThis fix it. Your choice, either way you should be ok.

Does Spybot now work for you?

Hi again, Thanks for your help And NO Spybot is still not working !! I re-installed this and it still freezes when scanning usualy at 6523/ w w w Coolsearch or something like that.
