Are you running two AV's? AVG and McAfee? Or is the McAfee your Firewall?

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

First:
Download and run
Check 'I know what I'm doing'.
Select 'inetadpt.dll'.
Click the right-pointing arrow.
Click 'Finished'.
Restart your computer.
Delete the following file: %SystemDir%\inetadpt.dll
Note: %SystemDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP).

Now run HiJackThis and do the following if they still exist:

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

MWSOEMON.EXE
VCatch.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

MyWebSearch
VCatch

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

Have LSP remove 'OSMIM.DLL'
Then follow the rest of the instructions.

Turn off "System Restore" first.

Use Ctrl/Alt/Del Processes Tab to "End Task on:

MWSOEMON.EXE
VCatch.exe

Then have HJT "Fix" what's in the list I posted.
After that use Windows Explorer to find and delete the Folders I listed.

Brad I'm sure if u see another message from me you're gonna be
But here it is, lol...
ok, I ended those 2 processes, turned off system restore, got HJT to fix those in the list. Then went to add/remove,
there was My Web Search (smiley central), I tried to remove it and got RUNDLL msg:
'Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\mwsbar.dll.
The specific module could not be found.'
VCatch wasn't there.
Then I went to delete C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch
A message came up :
'Cannot delete F3REPROX.DLL: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.'
Then, I went to delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\
VCatch
but there was no VCatch folder.
I've emptied Temporary Internet Files Folder, but as for TEMP folders, ermm... where do I get those?

LOL... nah..You're doing ok.
Boot into "Safe Mode". (Enter Windows "Safe Mode" by holding down the F8 or Ctrl key just before the "Loading Windows" screen.

Now try removing the Programs and deleting the Folders.
Delete the contents of:
C:\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp
C:\WINDOWS\Temp

Now reboot and run HJT and post a fresh Log File.

You're getting there. Go have a drink and then: (It's easier the second time. :))

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

DDCActiveMenu.exe
ossproxy.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DDCActiveMenu] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\DDC\ActiveMenu\DDCActiveMenu.exe" -boot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OSSProxy] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ossproxy.exe -boot

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

WildTangent

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ossproxy.exe
C:\Program Files\WildTangent

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

welllllllllll
as u said, DDCActiveMenu.exe & ossproxy.exe may not be in processes, neither were. I ran HJT again and fixed
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DDCActiveMenu] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\DDC\ActiveMenu\DDCActiveMenu.exe" -boot
&
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OSSProxy] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ossproxy.exe -boot
but R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1
wasn't there.
I then went to add/remove - wildtangent, it wasn't there.
also went to delete C:\WINDOWS\System32\ossproxy.exe
C:\Program Files\WildTangent
they weren't there either, i rebooted in safe and checked again, still not there.
done disk clean up on C. Still dunno where the (4) temp folders are, would they have been emptied when i done disk clean up?
Emptied recycle bin & rebooted, and here i am, lol. U want another log file? or should it all be grand now?
Oh, and i had about 6 billion back up files on desktop, are they from HJT?
And do I haveta keep them forever? I threw them into a new folder anyway.

Do you remember seeing this in my first post:
**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Make sure you put the HiJackThis.exe in that new Folder you created.

Do you have Windows set to show all files? (That's noted in all the posts)
Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab / Advanced Settings Window:
Put a check in "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
Uncheck: "Hide extensions for known file types"
and "Hide protected operating system files"

Post a fresh HJT Log File.
