Hi clennonuk ... nothing standing out.

These are OPTIONAL and NOT needed at START-UP They are Resource Hogs and will not disable the application.

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\bin\jusched.exe

and these 2:

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Hi clennonuk Image

I do suggest you visit the and download all of the Critical Updates and Service Packs. There is alot of problems with the new SP2 so that would be your choice to install that. I have not installed SP2 on any of my XP machines yet.
Do however d/l SP1
