Postby CanadianTek » Fri Nov 05, 2004 11:09 pm

HotBar
Media Loads
MS Media Player GUID
Promulgate
and
Searchexe

i have run bazooka.. and it is now reprorting that all the above are clear..

however..

after installing the new spybot 1.31 TX..

it found 37 problems..

i said go ahead, clean.. it told me it could not find the zp.dll and the unzp.dll files.. as it clipped 5 or 6 of those 37 off the list.. then..

BoooMpF..

sooooooooooo

i put zone alarm on..

only enabled win32 and IE to go to the net

and here is the HJT report..

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

InstallStub.exe

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.windowenhancer.com/searchbar/iev1.html

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the

C:\Program Files\Plaxo\2.0.4.65\InstallStub.exe -a

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore, before opening your browser goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

After you've finished fixing this problem I strongly recommend that you visit the and download the Critical Updates.

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.windowenhancer.com/searchbar/iev1.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://search.windowenhancer.com/nph-WE ... search&kw=
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.hispeed.rogers.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://search.windowenhancer.com/nph-WE ... search&kw=
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.windowenhancer.com/searchbar/iev1.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://search.windowenhancer.com/nph-WE ... search&kw=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://search.windowenhancer.com/nph-WE ... search&kw=
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.hotbar.com/dyn/hotbar/3.0/sb ... geHome.htm

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://search.windowenhancer.com/nph-WE ... search&kw=

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

Run another HJT Log and post back.

If you "Googled" then you know the issue. Most Corporate and Major Company Techs have their Firewalls block them. I personally believe that anything I can do to protect my or my company's privacy is worth doing.
