I think its a virus after all. A few days later AVG tried updating and it didnt work. I kept trying to update i and nothing ( its been a week now ) today Firefox tried to update too and it said "update unsuccessful". Apparently the updates are being prevented from running properly . My problem rises from this, yes I have avg but with it out of date then i cant find what cusses this, I ran spy bot and it came out empty handed,I'm seriously running out of options ...the only one I can think of is reinstalling the system with a clean slate .

I duno what do you guys think it can be ?

kendji,

Lets see if it is in fact a virus or some spyware.

Please download HijackThis http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis.zip and save it to your desktop.

To extract HijackThis:

1. Right-click your file HijackThis.zip and from the menu select "Extract All".
2. The Extraction Wizard Window will appear, Click "Next".
3. Click Browse and navigate to "C:\" or the "C:\Program Files" and click "Create A New Folder" and call it "HJT" or "HijackThis" or whatever that is easy to remember and then click OK.
4. Click the Extract button.
5. Close the HijackThis.zip dialogue box.

Now double-click on hijackthis.exe and when the window opens, Press the Scan now and save a logfile button and then when it is done, copy and paste the contents of the notepad it opens as a reply to this post.

I did what you said and Norton found a couple of spyware and a tracking cookie, but avg refuses to update. But wait it gets stranger ! I thought, well lets try uninstalling and reinstalling the little fella that might work. So as any normal person would do I went to the contol panel/ add remove, BUT when I clicked on some random program the Remove button was missing ....

I thought i was a fluke so I kept clicking random things on my list, more than 5 are missing the add remove button. I know that cant be normal, what in the world could it be ?

kendji,

So now you three anti virus programs, no wonder you're having troubles.

Go to these two location on your system and run the uninstalls directly from the folders.
C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\Uninstall.exe
C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\Uninstall.exe or unins000.exe or unwise.exe

Once you have done that reboot your system and see if that helps.
