My answer to this is simple, the more popular software gets, the more people are gonna try to exploit it. Now these 10 flaws have fixes already in place. When you compare these flaws to the hundreds of flaws with IE which is built into your OS. So you have no choice but to have these flaws in your system until MS gets around to fixing them.

I'll take my chances with Mozilla anyday.

there are more like thousands of flaws in internet exspolrer....
if u think ie is better than firefox.... why is microsoft about to drop internet exsplorer from windows? ....

i guess we all should use macs & be done with all this hijacking crap!

not to start a riot but i had a good theroy come into my head a few years ago...
i woudlent be suprised if some of these major companies are paying to have these virus's made... why you ask?

1.They make money on harddrives

2.They make money on selling service agreements

3.They make money on virus software

4.They make money on motherboards and other devices that can get ruined.

5.They make money now for just TALKING to a live preson

6.They make you belive no one else can solve these types of issues

7.People notice a speed difference when slowed by spyware adaware virus's or other third party programs and assum there computer is just getting old.

8.Hackers whom create some of the worst virus's ever go to jail for maybe a year or two before there hired by a major company.

9.They manage to patch these things within 24 hours.

10.How is the code leaked in the first place?

11. NO ONE IS ACCUSING.

12. SOMEONE has to be paying them. You cannot create a virus in a day... not a good one... therefore if ur working weeks at end on runing microsoft you must be gettin money somewhere to eat.... have a compuer.... drink ... stay in an apartment or own a house... buy all the software they need to create these things... like c++ or VB ...

13. the average person has absolutly no way of checking where it originated from.... whos in charge of hunting hackers down neways? ..... hackers thats who...

14.to try and show there power by "keeping america running" and forcing ideas that noone else could support fixing such attacks to there OS...


oh and PS... as more ppl around the world go mac.... you better watch out you know theres gona be something out soon enough to slam them.

of course all the possible ideas and reasons listed above are just junk because there is zero evidence and zero possibilty of ever getting any

besides who wants to spend tome making a virus for a mac user that only accounts for about 2% of all computer users.
they wouldnt be getting the exposure they want for there ego!

Whichever way you look at it, people will always write viruses for the most popular combination of programs - at the moment that means windows, IE & outlook. I'm sure if everyone used firefox there would be more exploits discovered. However a key point is that because IE is so integrated into windows, a IE vulnerability can easily become a windows vulnerability. This does not happen for firefox. That said, I personally use firefox simply because I prefer it to IE - it has tabbed browsing and is a lot less likely to succumb to spyware.

I agree with Restek, the tabbed browsing is the best reason to use either Firefox or Mozilla. It saves so much Task Bar space. The added benefit is that most people don't write exploits for them either.

MS needs to remove IE from being built into Windows.

I also use Firefox. Tabbed browsing is sweet.
