I am getting ungodly amounts of emails from returns/MAILER DAEMON. I am pretty sure someone is sending spam mail through my email address.
1. Is this a virus on my personal computer, the web server or both?
2. How can i get rid of this and keep it from happening?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Circa_87,

It could be someone is spoofing your email address as the sender.
There is not a lot you can do about this other than contact your ISP or who ever handles you email account.

You could have a Trojan on your system that is sending out spam.
Update your anti virus and run a complete scan.

You could try and track it down by viewing the headers of the email.
That should tell you the originating IP address
If it's your IP then you are infected.
If it's not your IP then report it to your ISP or email server.
