Currently I am planning on switching out the hard drive that has Win ME on it with a new larger one that I plan to do a clean install of XP. There are some older programs that I have that may not work on XP, but I need them for work. if they don't work I was hoping I could put the hard drive with ME back in. I received some conflicting information one sorce said there would be no problem the otehr said it won't work. I know that going back from XP to an older Win version can really be pain on the same hard drive, but the OS's will be on two different hard drives.

As long as each OS is on a separate drive and you only have one drive installed at a time, then you will be fine, the system will boot to the installed OS.

I also think that the older programs running on ME should work fine in XP as long as they are not DOS based programs anyway.
