USB Port Problem

Postby mparegian » Thu Jul 08, 2004 9:56 pm

I have an old computer custom built in 1998 which has been a real "workhorse" for me. I recently reformatted the hard drive, re-installed Windows 98se then installed Windows 2000 Pro over that. It is a 350 Megahertz AMD K6-2 w/3DNow! and is sitting at 256 Megabytes Installed Memory. Everything works beautifully and I am very pleased with the results - my only problem is it does not recognize the two USB ports. When I run the Belarc Advisor - it says "Bus Adapters" - none detected and in fact neither one of them work. All upgrades and patches from Microsoft have been installed - does anyone have any advice??[/b]

Try going to the Website of the Computer's manufacturer. See if you can get the Drivers for your Mobo.
What is the make and model?

Did you use the ports before - i.e. do you know they are physically connected to the headers on the motherboard?
