Help with errors found during diagnostic tests...

Postby Sara » Wed Aug 20, 2003 7:30 am

Hi guys, my system has been sluggish so I ran the Windows XP Network Diagnostics test. Following results came up as a fail:

Modems and Network Adapters

Network Adapters FAILED

[00458755] WAN Miniport (IP) (FAILED)

DNSServerSearchOrder (FAILED)
139.130.4.4 (FAILED)
Pinging 139.130.4.4 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 139.130.4.4:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)
203.50.2.71 (FAILED)

Also, having done the PCPitstop.com test they gave me this "tip":

According to Windows, the devices and/or drivers listed below are not enabled:

SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter [problem code 22]

How can I go about fixing these problems?
Thanks so much,

First of all check to makie sure that all your cables are connected corectlly and if you are suing a hub or a router that it is reading your computer connection.

After that make sure that all of the drivers a e properlly installed and configured to your sytem settings and that the drivers are updated.

The Make sure that your Network card is inserted correctlly and is functioning

The Check all your cables to make sure that they are all working.

Run a Network Diagnostics after each of those steps to see if it works if it still dosen't post what happens and iwill give you more suggestions
