win2000 serv pack 4 reapply

Postby jolted88 » Sat Sep 06, 2003 10:29 pm

I uninstalled win2000 service pack 4 in order to be able to view my IE6 uninstall option in add remove programs. I wanted to know if I can reapply(or reinstall)the service pack without causing any problems. Does anyone know where within my folders I would find the setup file for the service pack?

This will depend on what version of the service pack you downloaded.
SP4Experss_EN.exe is the Express installation and is only about 610 KB. The Express installation detects the service pack files that are already installed on your computer. It then downloads and installs only those files that need to be updated. You must stay connected to the Internet during the installation.
W2KSP4_EN.exe is the network installation and is the full download of all files included in the service pack you do not have to stay connected to the Internet during this installation.
Do a search on your system for the files named here to find the version that you downloaded.
