Greetings,
I was curious if anyone may be able to provide any help. Yesterday I purchased all new parts to build a Shuttle SFF system. However, I have had no luck whatsoever in getting Windows XP or 2000 to install cleanly without receiving one error or another.
The system consists of the following:
Shuttle SB65G2 (latest BIOS flashed)
Pentium 4 2.4GHz 800 HT
Kingston HyperX DDR400 RAM (2 x 512mb)
ATi All-in-Wonder 9600 Pro
IBM/Hitachi 7k250 120gb SATA
Sony CRX300E DVD/CD-RW
At first I only had Windows 2000, but I could not get past the copying of the setup files. It would usually give an error (a lovely BSOD of some sort). I'd restart, try again, and again, and again... I'd get one error or another. I then went out and purchased Windows XP Home thinking a newer OS may have better support for newer components, but that received the same thing... Actually, I got a little further where the setup _sometimes_ completes the copying, but then it would either lockup or give an error message on the Windows Installation after it restarts. I've changed both the DVD and hard drive (to a PATA one) to see if that helped since they were the easiest to change and I had spares, but it did nothing.
I'll get one of the following lovely errors most frequently:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0xF77D01F1, 0xF73B59B8, 0x00000000)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP: 0X00000050 (0XE2C3F00A, 0X00000000, 0XE2C3F00A, 0X00000002)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0030000C, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8081710F)
Anyone have any ideas? I've built several other computers in the past using standard ATX cases (first in dealing with the Shuttle cases), and this is the first time I've run into difficulty. Granted, I don't consider myself a pro at this by any means, but I'm feeling as though I'm not going to be able to get this working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
