Postby bsxiong » Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:50 pm

hey yall,

I've recently downloaded some movies. i tried to play it but my wmp10 just say that it cannot play the file. What is wrong?I can play all of movies i download, but these i can't.

I'm sure it's not a codec problem.....or is it? I have downloaded a lot of codecs too.

please help me.

thanks

possibly a codec problem, hard to say just yet.

What is the file type? mpeg, avi, etc?

it's mpeg. is it possible that someone might of just try to trick people to think it's a mpeg, but chaging the extension of the file name?

are there any program out there that can actually tell you what the original filetype it is?

Two things, first go find a program called GSpot. It will tell you what codecs you need for that file.

Second, most mpeg's use quicktime to play. I am not a big fan of WMP so I use quicktime and a player called bsplayer. I think it's tops.
