Compressing Drive's / Lower Performance or what?

Postby Quantum » Thu Nov 03, 2005 2:52 am

I am running out of disk space on a 40Gig Western Digital Sata Drive. I have heard from some that compressing a drive is not recommended but others tell me that with NTFS there is no problem at all. It seems to me that no one really knows the facts on this. I am completely open to discussion on this.

I am wanting to defragment the drive but it is telling me that it needs at least 15% free to do a goood job and I currently have 1% free.
