Laptop Question

Hi gang i have been given an old laptop buy a friends dad its a dell latitude xpi cd that has windows nt workstation 4.0 installed at the moment but it has a password that nobody knows and i cant get into it.
Is it possible to remove this and install xp instead thankyou

Are you talking about a Windows logon password or a BIOS password?

If it's running windows nt it may not be able to run XP .
You need at least a Pentium III and 128mb ram to run XP and then it would be slow.
Windows 98 se would work though.

Yes it the windows log on password gecko and i think i can get hold of a windows 98 disk if the xp is no good

Can i wipe nt completley off and install windows 98 after i got round the password problem
