Id recommend removing something you dont need from the start bar phil.
Like 'quake 4 demo' when you own the actual game LOL!!!

Better yet, instead of removing only the folders on your start menu, try:

Restarting your comp. Tap F8 as the computer reboots. Select the 'Command Prompt' option. Type: cd\ to get to the main C:\ directory.

Type: format c:\
Press enter, and than press 'Y'. No just wait a few seconds, and voila! Done!

Yeah I still haven't installed Quake 4. I've had it for a few months now. Ah well lol.

N Phil I think my idea would work, just uninstall the quake 4 demo n delete that folder.
The other option could be to install more things, and it would make a longer list, like a new line.

Psymon has hardly any things in his start up, cos he likes it nice n tidy n removed loads of them from the start up, maybe you could just try that, sift through what you don’t use often n remove the shortcut.

I have a different approach to resolve this myself I organize inside folders.

Right click on your Start button and select Explorer, now open Programs on the right side.
Select file > New Folder, name it Adobe now drag all your Adobe shortcuts to the new folder.
You can do this with all your short cuts inside the Start button like Music, Movies, Burning, …etc
