Windows XP hanging on Desktop

It sound more like spyware or a Trojan to me:
Please download , unzip it to it's own folder.
Or save it to a disk and transfer it during safe mode (see below)

Now restart Windows in safe mode with network support:
After you see the BIOS screen and before Windows starts to load.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
Use the Arrow key to ensure that the Safe Mode with network support option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode with network support.


Start HijackThis and select 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'
Now post the contents of the logfile back into this thread

You should be able to access the internet from safe mode with network support.

Already have hijack this, and as I said, I do regular scans.(Day before yesterday being the most recent)

Also, as I predicted, my PC wont start in safe mode, (with or without netwroking)

Any other ideas?

problem solved - for now, thanks for suggestions guys, a combination of both worked.

Will let you know if any reccurrence, occurs
