Ok recently people have been saying that when they try to send me a message it says it cannot be delivered and they cannot talk to me unless I talk to them first. But only with some people this happens. I tried to uninstall MSN but it still remembers my display and everything. How do I get rid of the registry keys for MSN Messenger 7.5?? Thanks I want to make it so its like MSN has never seen my system once before.

hehe,

whenever i have problems with my machine, i don't want to get fruastrated over with it so , i just take the easy route. Format and reinstall windows.

Don't try to remove it completely, it ain't going to work. The minute you do a windows update, it will come back

There is a little trick you can pull on the system that will keep it from initiating.

Go to the folder C:\Program Files\Messenger and rename it like NoMessenger. It should solve all of your problems. Now it can't load.

i want MSN messenger to work, I want it to load, I think you missed my point lol. My contacts are saying they are trying to send me a message, and it says it cannot send it to me, that I am unable to receieve it. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt. I want to remove MSn with ALL registry keys, and reinstall it, but if I dont get all the reg keys, then it wont uninstall completely.

"I know it sounds hard to believe, but some of you out there may wish to remove MSN Messenger from Windows XP. However, it does not appear from the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.

In order for it to show up there, you must first edit the file named sysoc.inf. This file can be found in a folder named INF, which is a subfolder of the Windows folder (or in some cases the winnt folder, depending on how your OS was installed).

You can open that file in notepad. Look for the following line:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
and remove the word "hide" while leaving the commas on place. Close and save the file, and then open the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel, so that you can remove it like any other program."


To Get Rid of the Annoying PopUp Ads:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel (or point to Settings, and then click Control Panel).
2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
3. Double-click Services.
4. Double-click Messenger.
5. In the Startup type list, click Disabled.
6. Click Stop, and then click OK.
