With the wireless issue--not sure where you are at, but some of the wireless stuff has dropped in price. Gecko's prices are real, you have to shop around.

I see wireless routers for $30 in the US. Usually 4 ports wired (and however many you want unwired.up to 254) I've picked up several wireless cards for around $7- $10 apiece (with a mail in rebate).

So what I would recomend, is to hook the one system up to the wireless router using a cat 5 connection, and then buying a wireless nic for the other computer and installing that, and you would be set to go. you would have wireless between the two units, but one would be connected physically to the lan (local area network connection)

My only confusion is to your reference to 43 other connections

OK . from my pc ( wired to router ) i cannot piong my other xp comp on the wired network ... I can ping my comp ( wired ) from the wireless comp on xp no probs but just cant seem to ping it from mine .

Im admin on my comp but I dont see why its not letting me in ?

Any ideas

I’m a little confused on which computer is which, for clarification lets try referring numbers.
Your XP pc = 1
Other XP pc = 2
Win me pc = 3

Can you ping any of the other systems from pc 1?

If you can only ping one direction then something is stopping the ping packet from going out.
