when i start up my computer, the task bar doesnt work. it shows everytihng fora while, then it jus turns grey.when i move my cursor on it it wither shows the resize curson or the hourglass. i cant do n e thing on it or use the start menu. what should i do

This issue can occur if the registry has been damaged.

You will need to use the Registry Editor (regedit) to delete the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects

When you restart Windows, the taskbar will be automatically recreated.

i tried the spyware software and that didnt help. i cannot get to the run section of the start menu so how do i get to msconfig?

Start Button / Run / Type msconfig Click Enter / Startup Tab.
Sorry didn't read your post right....
Try Ctrl/Alt/Del and File Menu / New Task (Run)
