What are the files?
Have you tried re-naming them and deleting?
A good "Third Party" App. for removing "un-deletable" files is:

hey, i did try renaming the files but the same error message comes up, thanks for the program but it didnt work?

these are the ones in my program files folder i cant delete-netmeeting, microsoft frontpage, xerox. and these are in my documents-ntuser,ntuser.dat

I would suggest not deleting your ntuser and ntuser.dat files. They hold your user settings.

Have you uninstalled Frontpage and whatever the Xerox application is?

As for Netmeeting:

Click on Start > Run > Type in: Dll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\WINDOWS\inf\msnetmtg.inf,NetMtg.Remove

reboot and you should be able to delete the file.

i typed that in but it said the file cannot be found and for xerox and frontpage i still cant delete them either

i also was wondering why when i tried to delete them in safe mode they deleted but when i restarted and went into normal mode all of the files i deleted in safe mode came back

Windows XP has a System Restore feature, sometimes you need to shut it off

Click Start.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Select "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" clear the check box go back into safe mode - delete the files. Boot back into Windows normally and ture System Restore back on.

Ok - next stop WindowsXP Remote Desktop Connection. If you're willing, I can connect to your PC remotely and assess what may be wrong with the delete methods we've tried. If you're up for this, let me know what Instant Message program you use and we'll set something up.

in had the same problem, and somone on here told me to use SPYBOT S&D , this has a tool called SHREDDER on it and can delete almost anything, it worked, at first it seems as though it didnt delete it , but after using the shredder tool i restarted my pc and manually deleted the files easily so SPYBOT did somthing :wink:
