unable to read files in previously burned cdroms

Dear all, thanks for reading this thread

I recently formatted my computer and upgraded to Windows Xp from Windows ME ( Windows Me came with my computer when i bought it)

Since then, i couldn;t read the movies files in those previous cds i burned using NTI cd maker.
My cd drive can read what is inside the cd without any difficulty, and the mpeg file is shown on windows explorer, but the funny thing is i cannot right click the file. When i double click, try to copy, or play the file, it says " The disc struture is corrupted or unreadable "

This situation applies to all cds i burned previously ( around 30 odd cds ) and the odd thing is that the problem does not apply to other computers, as my friends can all still play the files from my discs..................

Im not sure if this is a cd drive problem or Win Xp or software or driver problem, thus i posted my problem here. Please pardon me if I posted in the wrong section.

Did you update your CD Player's drivers with WinXp compatable ones?

Where do i go about to install the compatible cd drivers? My is creative cd-rw 12/10/32x

It sounds like you need to install ASPI drivers.
An ASPI layer consists of four files that 'lie between' various programs and certain devices, such as CD/DVD-ROM drives and CD/DVD burners/writers

hi, i tried installing the aspi drivers but still it did not solve my problem
Someone told me my problem might be due to different format as in the cdr were burned in joliet format which xp cannot read. Not sure about this...........
