xp freeze

Postby kendim » Sat Jan 24, 2004 11:11 pm

Hi

I am running XP pro and have had a few problems, I have reformatted 5 times and still have a problem. When I leave my pc on over nite all the applications stop responding and I lose my ADSL hookup so this leads to a reboot and it will only startup in safe mode.......if I turn it off for a couple of hours it seems to be fine and boots in normal mode. Could this be a hardware or over heating problem?

to start...do you run a screensaver or turn off the monitor? What are your system specs (cpu, video, power supply, cooling fans, memory, etc.)?A good way to check cooling is to leave the side cover off and see if it still locks.
