Hiccups

I just reformatted my computer because it was not performing correctly. Always freezing and what not. Afterwards it is now hiccuping a lot skipping all my music and making the CPU spike frequently. It will occasionally freeze but not all the time.

It has a gig of RAM and should have no reason to be doing what it is. What should I do?

I would start by opening your task manager (ctrl-alt-del) and watch the processes. See if theres a particular process that spikes your cpu usage.

I did that and it is usually the system idle or my IE or Firefox. Also it happens when I change songs on iTunes. Nothing is really out of order from what I can tell.

This is a really annoying problem what can we do?

Apart from that, do you have the same problem when you first boot up the machine or does it seem to run ok the first few minutes then start lagging?

I will test that out but it usually happens right away. It takes its few minutes to initialize and then it acts that slow for the rest of the while.

I gave the diagnostics a try and it ran 11 passes with no problems.

To answer your other question, it hiccups right away after the initialization of everything. In some instances it will freeze within 5 minutes of me starting to use.
