limited or no connectivity turned into enabling modem crash

Hi Gecko.
Update as of 28 december 07.
I purchased new pc yesterday.Other pc is now in shed waiting for me to get a usb cable that allows me to transfer files from laptop to pc or pc to pc.
My embedded graphics card failing was the last straw.Windows would boot but nothing came up on screen.I checked the monitor using an old pc and monitor was fine.So it was the gc that was the problem.

Oviously this was seperate to the internet problem which you were trying to help me with.Thanks for your attention over the time since i put the problem up first on this forum.Unless i put another graphics card(which id have to buy) into the old pc i wont be spending any more time on solving the problem.
