registry cannot load the hive(file)\systemroot\system32\conf

hello all... yes i am in need of help.
My computer was running great, until i DL a crappy program i didn't like, i uninstalled it and get rid of it. about 20 mins later my puter went poof.... meaning, the color on the screen went funky and puter shit down. now when i try to load it up i get a black screen which ask if i want to start in safe mode last knowen good configeration ....so forth and so on ... i have tryed all options and all the puter does is restart. the next day i tryed again and it loaded in the middle of trying a restore it locked and i am back to where i began.
on trying to load in safe mode this is what happens ... it gets stuck at
multi(0)disk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\drivers\mup.sys

then i decided to disable auto restartand got this
a blue screen that says
the registry cannot load the hive(file)\systemroot\system32\config\software
begining dump of physical memory blah blah blah

i figured i could put in my xp disk and fix the problem but my xp disk has come up missing and no clue as to where or when it grew legs and walked. I found on the microsoft site where i can make 6 floppy disk (which i did) and even tryed everything i have read on there to fix .. i have access to the net but am unable to make a boot disk due to the fact that my only access to the net and a computer is my boyfriends who's cd burner is junk.
please please any quick suggestions would be great !!!!
i have a hp with a new hard drive that is less then 9 months old. Would love to know that there is an somewhat easy fix out there. thanks in advance

Without a Windows XP CD or access to a burner you are really out of luck.

If you find your XP-CD or gain access to a burner then you will need to read this .
