Blue screen of death

Postby infoplz » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:27 am

Hi. My computer about a few months ago kept on getting the blue screen of death constantly. Shortly after that it started restarting over and over again ,when i would boot it, when it reached the windows xp logo with loading bar. At this point I started using the computer in safe mode and that worked for some time. But then shorty after that I wouldn't be able to go into safe mode at all no matter which form of safe mode I chose. So I carried it to this guy and he wiped my computer clean, he gave me a new hard drive (an NTFS one instead of FAT like i had before). My computer has been good for a couple of months and now im getting the blue screen again. I'm afraid the same thing might happen as before so I'm trying to get help before it does.

Hi Infoplz

You could have some bad memory go to this site and get the iso for windiag
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

It will test your memory on boot. If it isn't the memory, I would suspect an overheating issue. Your fans could be shot on the power supply. A flashlight could give you a quick check. If the operating system is super slow, it could be bad capacitors on the mother board.
