Everytime I open one of the Office programs I get this annoying pop up for speech configuration. I have tried everything other than setting it up. I have no reason to set it up though because I don't have a head set and I don't want to talk to my computer. How do I get that thing to stop?

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:
"Speech Recognition is part of Office's collection of utilities designed to give users, particularly those with disabilities, alternative ways of entering data.

In the Control Panel, click on Regional and Language Options, then on the Language tab. Next, go to Details, and in "Installed services" click on Speech Recognition, then on Remove.

Alternatively, wander into your System Configuration Utility and disable ctfmon.exe, the program that, among other things, puts speech recognition and other alternative Input options into play."

If you still encounter problems see this .

Thanx for the help should have seen that myself. Didn't think to look in the regional settings.
