screen shot

Postby badpolarbear » Fri May 14, 2004 11:50 pm

Since Im very new to XP Im likely going to have a lot of questions. My question this time is,,,, how do I save a screen shot. Lets say I want some one to see what all is in my start menu. How do I save the screen shot and where do I put it to save it? Or lets say I get some kind of error, can I save the screen shot instead of writing down the error?

Sure, just use "PrtScrn" or Print Screen and "Paste it into Paint. Save it as a .jpeg. Now, upload it to your Website and post the URL as a link in your thread.

Yup pretty cool...
PrintScrn will print your whole desktop.
ALT+PRNT/SCRN will print what ever application you have up on the screen. So say a grey box or error messege pops up...instead of printing the whole screen, hit Alt+PrntScrn and it will only print the error box.
Another thing, lets say you wanted to point out a certain item on the page or pic, lets say circle it.This is what to do.
When you click Prnt/Scrn it saves it to the CLIPBOARD.
After hitting Prnt/Scrn,OPEN MSPAINT,hit CTRL+V,click yes and there's your pic.
You can now draw circles or underline certain areas.
Save the pic to your HardDrive.
