You may need to enter the bios settings and disable the onboard graphics. This is usually done by pressing delete or F2 at the HP logo. Im assuming you installed a AGP card and if so you should also have the option in bios for initial display which should be set to AGP. However, dont be alarmed if that option isnt there, HP bios sometimes dont have this.
