ATA 33 problems

Postby Jokebook » Sun May 18, 2003 8:36 pm

I own a computer with windows XP.

Mobo: nvidia a7nax deluxe
HD: WD 40 gb ultra ata 100/7200/8mb

When the computer boots it tells me everytime that the hd is only running @ ata 33.

I have gone thru all of the bios, have correct cables and all my drivers are up to date.....

I have tried moving my cables around in the case with no success. Right now I have the CD ROMS and the HD on seperate ribbons....

My HD is on IDE 1

Are you using an 80 pin data cable? If your cable is only 40 pin, then the max speed you will be able to get is ATA33. You will need an 80 pin cable to get above this :)

The only other thing I can think to try is to get the latest drivers for you motherboard chipset from the manufacturer :)
