pc keeps trying to boot from external hard drive

i have recently changed my os to windows 7 and i am having problems everytime my pc needed to boot i kept getting message bootmgr is missing so i fixed that and no i am getting message saying ntldr is missing.so i checked my boot settings and i was set to boot from my external hard drive which is why i am getting these error messages i have now unpluged my external hd and its boots and works just fine.How do i get it to boot from my hd rather than my external hd

that should be a bios setting and not OS specific, make sure first boot device is bios is the right drive

The problem with that is in bios settings where it says about hdd group it says desktop seagate which is my external hd and my normal hd is listed as 3rd master

I'm assuming you have a SATA Motherboard. Usually there are 4 HD Connections on the board. The internal drive is plugged into #3. If you only have the one drive, leave it or get a flashlight and hook it up to the # 1 or #0 connector. They are either labled 1-4 or 0-3.

What you need to do is boot from the CD-rom with the windows 7 install disk and do a repair. You won't have to do a thing, its automatic. Just make sure the external drive is disconnected.

On an install windows can only have one boot drive. If you have two, windows solves the problem by disabling the second one to boot. That's why on a windows install you should only have one drive hooked up.
