IE 6

I am presuming I have IE 6 because I'm running XP Pro?

I am getting the SEND/DONT SEND error message instead of my browser opening up and want to re install IE 6.

Where can I get a copy from? Is it free on any ISP discs anywhere and I could just install IE 6.

I've tried add/remove components but it didn't do anything, can somebody talk me through the process?

I think this is a common problem but with lack of technical knowledge troubleshooting is difficult.

Please help this is really bugging me..........

Somebody said Tesco's ISP disc had IE6 on it and you can install it on it's own.

I will see if I can pick a copy up because for somebody with little techy knowledge it might be the easiest way to fix my problem.

It only cost 50p

Right

I have now tried to re install IE6 from an ISP cd but still I cannot get online from my IE desktop icon!!

What can I do?????

(By the way the only way I am getting online to post this message is by unchecking the Enable third party browser extensions box in IE advanced properties but I should be able to get online with that box checked right?)

Help......

Checking that shouldn't have kept you from getting online.
Did you restart after you enabled it?
Try this:
Download and run:

Download and install . Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File here.

After running CWShredder all seems to be working now. Should I still do what you said in the above post with Hijackthis?

I want everything to do with Freeserve removed from my pc because they are not my ISP anymore, I noticed the above bits of the log were mentioning freeserve?

Run HiJack This again. If any of what I posted is still there then do as described. If you still have problems, post the Log File again.
