Picture viewer

I grew tired of XP pretty quick on our home laptop and put w2000 pro on it. Now my daughter is unhappy as she misses the XP picture and fax viewer utility that pops up whenever you click on a picture file in the folder. We have Photoshop 7 for serious editing but she liked the ease of the XP utility for scrolling and other simple tasks from within the folder. Can the XP application be loaded onto W2k or must I go to a third party version? If so, is there one that works as seemlessly?

Third party is probably your best bet. You can't install WinXp's on it.
Is this the Laptop you asked about in the other Forum?

Thanks Brad, yes this is the same laptop. I sent the DVD drive back and it tested fine in a Toshiba. It still makes no sense to me but I'll limit my search for a replacement to only ones for Sonys.

Do you have any recommendations for viewers? I think simpler is better as it's the speed and ability to move thru all the pics in the folder that is preferred.

I'm sure somebody here does.
My question was refering to your post in another forum today about networking your laptop with WinXp.... This post states it's a Laptop with Win2000. That's why I asked.

Sorry for the confusion, yes it's the same. Having spent some time on multiple computers with 3.1, 95, 98, ME, XP, NT, and 2000, I'd rather have 2000. Unfortunately I just bought yet another laptop and of course it came with XP. And since this one is for my wife, she insists that I leave it alone. I can't say I'm happy about the mix of OS's but I'll muddle thru I'm sure. I keep threatened to put Mandrake on all of them but I know I'd have a rebellion in my house if I did. My personal PC is setup as a dual boot w/Mandrake but since I got rid of 98 and ME and especially IE, I've not had as many problems and don't use Mandrake as much.

Excuse for the off topic post.
