Hi kiddies, I'm back with another question!
I have managed to get my laptop up and running again by updating XP from the install disc. But it seemed to be running a bit strange so I decide to just re-install XP altogether. The problem now is that It keeps saying:-
an error occured whilst trying to copy file setupldr.bin to C:\$WIN_NT$~BT\setupldr.bin
I'm guessing that C:\$WIN_NT$~BT is my hard drive. Is this bad???
Fanks!
Steve.

Hello again!
My laptop has gone down again! When I boot up it try's to start up but just keeps on restarting and goes in a loop.
I can start up from a XP install disk but when I press r to repaire the disc, it goes through to like a DOS screen (which scares me!) Or if I select install new system it says that installing multi systems is not recomend.
Is it possible to just install a new system, then when it is up and running delete the old one so I am just left with the new one?
Geees, and I thought women were tough to work out!
Cheers for you patience!
Steve.

repairing your xp through recovery console is the best way to keep your files but if you dont want to and you can afford t o lose them try reintalling the OS.
You wont have dual boot unless you have home xp in your laptop and you have the xp pro cd.
just go ahead with the installation, you will have the options of selecting partitions and repartitioning, and reformatting as well. I would suggest them as to clear of any possible virus. But you can install the OS into the existing partition and "windows" folder and it will just overwrite the files on it, and programs will not be migrated as well.
