Media Player being invaded!

Postby Jazzman » Sat May 01, 2004 2:35 am

Someone help!

Every time i start windows media player, an error message pops up reading

'The file wmp.dll has a version number of 9.0.0.2980 where 9.0.0.3008 was expected. Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to install the player from the microsoft website?' (followed by 'yes' and 'no' boxes)

It is blatently not a genuine message, I can see that, but i cant get rid of it! I've ran hijackthis, ad-aware, spybot and Bazzooka. None of them can shake it.

Any ideas?

Please help - I MISS MY MUSIC!!!!

Thanks all

That is a valid error--I've had two systems with that error, one was caused by a roll back and the other I did by installing an old copy of the update. DL the newest version and install--should be ok
