Please help I've got issues!!

I bought a sony vaio pcv rs310 (my first personal comp)
and suspecting that the integrated 64mb intel video card
would not suffice my gaming habits I shopped around
and found a 128mb gforce fx5200 only to rea
lize that there was no agp slot :~(
So then I got a motherboard.. then that
would not fit into my sony case so then
I bought a case.
Pretty much I built my first computer.
Hence i have no warranty, no customer support,
and alas no system recovery.
Now my specs are as follows:

I'm 26 and have 4 years of computer exp.
and I've owned this comp for 3 years
windows xp home edition
pentium4 2.4 ghz
intel motherboard 865perl
1gb ddr ram
80 gb disc drive split into two partitions
C and D with only windows on the C drive
128mb gforce fx 5200
soundblaster audigy ls 24-bit
OK now on with the questions>>
1.how can I reformat my hard drive without deleting my windows
2.down in my taskbar for some reason
I can't get my running programs to show
.. you know like websites programs and the like.
how can I get the taskbar to show these things?
Right now I'm using the old alt-tab deal
3. I was going to show you my screen shots
but I've forgotten where I can find them?
4. And also I've never gotten the blue screen of death but for some reason after installing the simpsons hit and run about 3 minutes into the game the blue sceen came up???
Then after that I went into my temps folder and found this BS >>> CmdLineExt
03.dll (it can't be deleted) and I know it cam with the game. i already googled it and its some
A#%$%$ creeps idea of advertising.
I really do appreciate any help that you guys can give me and please guys think very carefully before you post any suggestions. if you feel that you cannot give a serious and helpful reply please leave the posts to those that have had more experience with windows xp and all the baggage that comes along
with it.
please give any answers in the same 1,2,3,4 format that I used.
