Hello ansmwke Image

You can start off by giving us more info on the device your using.
Have you tried a firmware update to see if that helps?

Geekgirl has a good point about the firmware,
Easy CD creator 5.1 has known issues with windows XP
you will need version 5.1.0.104 at least to work with XP.

Have you disabled Windows XP burning software?
When you are you trying to copy a CD are you “burning on the fly” or are you writing it to the HDD first?
Is your burner on the same ide cable as you HDD?
Do you get buffer under run errors?

Firmware updates are for Hardware devices such as CD-Roms.
You'd have to check the Website of your software for software updates.
