Geforce FX5200 driver install problem

Postby a5ton » Sat Dec 11, 2004 2:26 pm

Hi guys

I have been trying to install a driver for my Leadtek Winfast Geforce FX5200 graphics cards. Every time i install it i get the following error message.

16 bit windows sub system
C:\Windows\system32\autoexec.nt THe system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. Choose close to terminate the application.
-------------- --------------
[ Close ] [ Ignore ]

Or copy and paste this url to see the picture http://tinypic.com/vxszs

This is 100% the correct driver from the manufacturers website www.leadtek.com
Even if i press the ignore button it still will not install. I have tried the Nvidia generic driver and still the same problem.

If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful. Also i has a couple of Viruses on my PC which have now been removed "Korgo a,ab" could this be the problem

Thanks a5ton[/url]

You could try this. Copy the file Autoexec.nt from your C:\Windows\Repair folder and paste it into C:\Windows\System32 folder. Let it replace the file that's there. Also here is a link that may help from MKB »

Im not sure what you mean by "generic" drivers but here's a link to the GeForce Forceware drivers

Generic? As in default drivers on the Windows CD?
