Theif!
Just kidding. Did you use a non-OEM Windows XP cd with an OEM certificate of Authenticity?
If your computer has a sticker on the side or on the top of it with a product key, and you used a Windows XP cd key that DID NOT come with your computer, windows will recognize it, but it's technically not valid. If you do not the Windows XP cds that came with your computer, I'd suggest phoning the manufacturer of your computer and asking them for the System Recovery cds. They included the OEM version of windows designed for your computer.
If you used a Windows XP cd and used the key that CAME with it and get this error, than you should phone 1-800-microsoft and explain to them what's going on. Most of the time (unless you admit you've used a pirated copy) they will give you a new product key and access key.
That's really all I can say. You could also try finding a 3rd party 'Windows XP Product Key changer'. I won't post a link, because I don't think that's legal, and if it is, oh well.
