Every so often, I'll get an error box saying that my computer is going toshut down in 45 seconds or something. I get the following message:
"C:\Winows\System32\lsass.exe has caused the following error code:
-1073741819"
There's some other crap in there, but yeah, that's the major thing. Anyone got a solution?

I just did a google search and I found that this error only applies to Windows 2000 users, or atleast only the majority were 2000 users, as I didn't see a problem with XP and the lsass.exe.
Here's my computer specs:
Windows XP
(No SPs. Last time I downloaded an SP, my computer wouldn't restart Windows.)
666Mhz
256mb Ram.
This is my older computer. I just want it to run, I use it quite a bit.

This sounds like a Sasser worm infection to me.
Microsoft has an online Malicious Software Removal Tool that will check and remove the infection.
Use the bellow link to run the removal tool but you must use Internet Explorer for it to work.

I disabled my LinkSys ethernet card and attached the ethercord to my onboard Ethernet port, which didn't work with my cable modem. I have DSL now and I guess it works. The problem has stopped, at least it hasn't since I switched them.
So I guess it's narrowed down to the Linksys card causing a problem in the TCP/IP area of the computer which is causing the LSASS.exe to terminate?
