Itunes + Quicktime problem

Postby venney » Tue Apr 03, 2007 5:54 pm

Hey. Ive got a real problem. When i try and load itunes or quicktime, i get an error messege. it says
'I Tunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration'.

Ive not idea why, my sound is working fine. Ive got it set up just fine, no idea why it wont work. It was working about 4 days ago im sure?

Any help would be great. My sound card says its working fine.

Does your sound card have the newest drive updated? If so, there could be a nice little compatibility problem between your sound card and (itunes/quicktime) what you could do is uninstall your version of the sound card, then locate the manufacturer's website and download and reinstall the newest partition. There could also be a problem inside your computer like the sound card is slightly off of its connection to your motherboard.

What sound card are you using?

We can start there and fix the problem to get it starting back up in no time!

Venney, before you do the work and uninstall it (if you have the CD) try this:
Start
Run
type: dxdiag
Run the program and see if there are any DirectX files missing (sound files could be missing or it will give you info. as to why your sound card cannot be read -- it might tell you that it isnt properly connected inside ure comp or other reasons)

if so dl the DirectSound/DirectX here

and then do a fresh reboot of your system. Post back if your sound card doesnt work and after you have reinstalled from the clean CD install.

*we will keep trying until it is fixed!*

Thanks for the idea. I was told by a mate of mine to try re-installing the drivers, and it worked. It was a bit strange, as i had the same driver installed, but re-installing it seemed to work.
Thanks tho hue_jass
